Bands used to be a big part of entertainment, you know the big brass bands. Now, music is still a big part of entertainment, only more in a punk rock style. Artists have changed, music has changed, and bands have changed along with technology.

Instead of going to a concert to hear several bands play, you can watch bands play on mtv or videos. However, nothing beats hearing live bands play. There's something about going to a concert and participating in the energy and excitement of hearing bands and artists perform. Even punk rock music has lyrics you can sing along with at a concert. At live concerts like warped tour you can buy neckwear and other memorabilia from your favorite bands and artists.

Bands and artists often record their songs in the studio and put their music on CDs. Now that recorded music from the bands and artists can be quickly downloaded via MP3 files. Just browse online through your list of favorite music, bands, artists, and with the click of a button you have the music. Some are afraid that this kind of technology hurts the music industry. Actually, it just changes the music industry. Imagine how popular some artists and/or bands would be if they put their original music online for fans to browse through and share with other friends. Then the bands and artists would be known more. The top 100 artists and bands have their music available for download. That doesn't mean that there are still copyright infringements and that has been a problem with music downloads, however, the music industry has gone more global.

It's easier to now record bands and artists live or take videos of warped tour and post them online for fans to browse through, enjoy, and most of all share the word with their friends so that the bands and artists become more popular.

Billboard still has their top 100 artists and bands who have the most music sales. However, with the change in the music industry there are many more artists and bands that are discovered every day. Not to mention, bands and artists are also created every day. With technology it just takes a love of music to create bands and artists and music. For example, some artists could get together and create some music and post it online. These artists and bands don't have to be well-known to post their music online. All the bands and artists have to do is know how to record and save the music file and upload it to the internet. Bands and artists can take advantage of the ease of sharing their original music through online videos, etc. Obviously copyrighting your original music is good and while you're getting yourself known as bands or artists share your music and then offer some music for purchase. Everyone enjoys a free song and with music marketing often if you give the bands and artists fans something for free they will want to give something in return especially if they are fans of the bands and/or artists.
